Get Your Mind on Board

Start with mental preparation. You need to be aware and ready for the strong withdrawal symptoms that you are going to feel when you quit. Being prepared for these feelings can make them easier to deal with when they do come. You should also have an idea of what you are going to do when you feel cravings. Are you going to take a walk? Chew gum? Again, knowing this ahead of time will decrease the chance of you giving into your cravings.
