Headaches are a common problem and many factors such as poor posture and stress can lead to different types of headaches. Sometimes misalignments in the vertebrae cause nerve irritation and exert pressure on the nerves leading to the brain. This may lead to cluster headaches and migraines. Advanced chiropractic treatment methods help patients to get relief from headache issues and lead a healthy lifestyle. Various healthcare practices offer specialized chiropractic treatments for headaches.

Best Treatment for Headache Relief

As drugs and injections only reduce the intensity of headaches, people nowadays are looking for a natural method that would reduce pain as well as eliminate the cause of pain. Latest chiropractic techniques help people to get rid of headache and also provide the ways to prevent future problems. Application of gentle and skilled chiropractic adjustments will reduce the pressure on the spinal nerves and muscles and it will automatically reduce the symptoms of headache. By restoring the proper function, chiropractic methods reduce the incidence of future headache problems.

Safe and Effective Way

The major aim of chiropractic care is to reduce and eliminate the abnormal neurological function that causes severe and chronic headache problems. Non-intrusive chiropractic techniques help the spinal system to work properly and it will effectively reduce the frequency and duration of migraine and tension headaches.

During the initial consultation, the chiropractor thoroughly examines the overall function of your body and performs specific tests to find the root cause of your headache problem. Depending on the patient’s medical condition, the chiropractor will design an individual headache treatment plan. Many insurance companies provide coverage for chiropractic care-however, before scheduling a chiropractic treatment plan, you have to make sure whether it is covered or not.

Chiropractic – Chiropractic care gives relief from back pain, shoulder pain, pain from whiplash injury, sciatica, knee pain, headache, neck pain, etc. HealthQuest offers chiropractic treatment for relief from ailments.

Right now in this very split second of time, there are millions of people suffering from migraine headaches all over the world. It’s a far more common problem than most people think. The main problem with being a migraine sufferer (or migraineur if you like) is that most people will dismiss that insanely painful migraine you have as “..just a headache..”. People tend to be very dismissive of migraines – unless they actually suffer from them.

One of the worst offenders when it comes to discriminating against people with migraines are employers. They’ll more likely to see a migraine attack “as just a headache” than anyone else in your job. What’s more shocking is that some company doctors (especially in large companies or corporations) have only openly said they don’t believe in migraine headaches!

Companies are legally obliged (well in most countries) to make “reason accommodation for people with disabilities”. Basically your employer is legally bound to adapt the working environment to suit you as much as possible – as long as it doesn’t wind up costing tens of thousands of dollars. Even if this process does cost thousands of dollars the company will get it back in tax breaks as part of Government and State disability incentives.

Does this mean that all migraineurs should now treat themselves as being disabled? Of course not- that’s really bad karma. A bad migraine can know the hell out of you but it does pass in the end. The purpose of pointing out the disability aspect is that employers shouldn’t just dismiss your migraines as if it wasn’t a very real condition.

Some employers have even used the fact that some of their employees have migraines as an excuse to make staff redundant. They don’t recognize the condition so the employee is simply seen as taking too many sick days. Companies are looking at how many man hours they’re losing each year to migraine headaches – some estimates put this at several billion dollars in lost time and revenue each year – on a global basis. Migraineurs are seen as “serial sickies” who constantly suffer from the Monday blues and when company doctors don’t even recognize your condition then it’s hard to fight your own corner when facing being fired.

This is leading more and more people to take action against former employers for unfair dismissal and rightly so. The current economic climate means big companies are looking for ever more devious ways to shed employees and outsource the work elsewhere – the recession is being used as an excuse.

To help prevent this problem in the first place make sure that your co-workers know and understand that you have migraines and just how serious a problem this can be for you. Don’t do it in a bleeding heart “pity me” style but raising awareness of medical conditions is important. It also means that people will understand why you’re out sick or why your performance may suffer during a prolonged migraine attack.

Migraine headaches are real. Their effects are real. Don’t let your migraines be used as an excuse to treat you badly in the workplace.

Sick and tired of those painful, pounding migraine headaches? You need to understand your migraines to stop them so get more migraine headache information that’ll help you to fight your migraines today.

Have you ever suffered such a bad headache it was almost like somebody was playing the bongo drums in your head? If so, you are among the millions of people who suffer from chronic migraines. Migraines can be agonizingly painful. You become tremendously sensitive to light and the sound of a pin dropping sends painful vibrations through your head. In severe cases sufferers may experience limb numbness, hallucinations, nausea and vomiting. There are a few culprits responsible for the onset of a migraine. Hormones, stress, dehydration, even the food you eat can trigger a migraine, which is what we now…

Mean MSG

MSG, or mono sodium glutamate, is an artificial flavour enhancer found most familiarly in Chinese take outs. It is arguably an unnecessary addition to foods, particularly if fresh ingredients (which are generally fuller in flavour) are used and because of its ill effects on so many people. Even the smallest amount can provoke severs headaches. It seems to act as a vasodilator, which means it opens and closes the blood vessels in the head, and this is exactly what happens during a migraine. If you are risking a Chinese take out night, ALWAYS request your foods to be MSG free. Most restaurants will be happy to comply, but if not, find another restaurant!

Nasty Nitrates

Popular foods like hot dogs, salami, bacon and other cured meats are full of preservatives. They have very little (if any) nutritional value and are full of saturated fats. If this alone is not enough to convince you to avoid these criminal foods consider this; One of preservatives used are nitrates and this nasty addition has been known to be carcinogenic and provoke migraines. Avoid these murderous meats at all costs.

Cheeky Caffeine

To be completely fair, all fingers cannot point to caffeine. It does act as a vasoconstrictor, which limits blood flow through the blood vessels in your head, but a little caffeine can actually relieve a headache. But because it is such a fine line, it is recommended to avoid it completely if it notably triggers a migraine.

Aspartame Attentiveness

A few studies do show a direct link between this artificial sweetener and headaches, but there is no conclusive evidence to prove it affects everybody. Keep a diary of the foods you eat for a few weeks and if you suffer a migraine, you can check to see if any of the foods or beverages you consumed that day contained aspartame.

Terrible Tyramine

This amino acid triggers sensitivity in almost 30% of migraine sufferers. Foods to look out for include aged cheeses, pickles herrings, chicken livers, fresh baked foods made from yeast, lima beans, Italian beans, lentils, snow peas, navy beans, pinto beans, peanuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. Try eliminating these foods to establish if it brings you any relief.

Chocolate Crisis

Sorry to say, but chocolate is another potential cause of a migraine. The chemical compound it contains called phenylethylamine is the culprit. Avoiding chocolate as much as possible will help to avoid a migraine (easier said than done I know).

Alcohol Awareness

Alcohol will dehydrate the brain and can also dilate blood vessels in your brain, which in return will cause a headache. In addition to this a chemical called congeners found mostly in hard liquors will have the same affect. Alcohol consumption should be limited for a multitude of reasons and being the cause of a migraine is another one! If you suffer from migraines always have remedies on hand to relieve the pain. If it becomes too unbearable, ask a family member or friend to take you to the doctor immediately.

Consider aromatherapy as an alternative treatment for migraines. Essential oils containing a blend of peppermint, lavender, and rosemary go to work quickly by opening the flow of blood vessels in the brain which can rapidly bring some much needed relief.

Pneumonic toxic headaches are a type of vascular headache – that you’ve probably never heard of before. During a vascular headache, blood vessels in the tissue surrounding the head swell or dilate and become distended (twisted out of shape). This causes intense pain that increases with physical exertion of any kind.

Pneumonic headaches are vascular headaches that throb unrelentingly and can be as blinding and incapacitating as a migraine so it can be hard to tell them apart. In fact, migraines and cluster headaches, as well as pneumonia headaches, are all types of vascular headache.

A toxic headache typically accompanies or results from a fever during an illness. Toxic chemicals introduced into the body can cause a toxic headache as the name suggests. For instance, headaches that accompany hangovers are toxic headaches caused by alcohol consumption.

In addition, many other chemicals that cause toxic headaches include insecticides, solvents (like paint thinners), lead, and even some household cleaners. However, not all toxins are from outside chemicals. Toxins can be and often are produced by any living organism that invades your system, as is typically the case with pneumonia toxic headaches.

Pneumonic headaches are a cause for concern because they are vascular headaches associated with pneumonia and toxins introduced into the body because of the illness you’ve just had or still have. Pneumonia is an inflammation or infection of the lungs that is in itself a dangerous illness and a leading cause of death even in developed countries. The many causes of pneumonia include bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites, mycoplasmas, and other toxic pathogens.

All types of pneumonia can be accompanied by pneumonic headaches. One final point that bears emphasis is that pain is part of the body’s alert system. Any pain that is associated with an illness, like pneumonia, may be a warning of the development or an indication of an even more severe problem. Since pneumonia toxic headaches are part of an already acute illness, treatment for them should follow your physicians guidelines for treatment of pneumonia. Don’t just assume this type of headche can be treated normally – this simply isn’t always the case.

So now you know exactly what a pneumonic toxic headache is and what causes is you’re better prepared to recognize one and deal with it – if you ever have to.

Does your head feel like it’s about to explode after the latest migraine attack? Why keep suffering? Learn more about the latest migraine headache treatments today. Discover more by clicking over to -> http://www.migraineheadachereport for more information.

If you’re getting headaches that happen as the same time as a sudden severe thirst you might need to check in with a doctor or ER room. Usually having a sudden headache and a strong thirst is a sign of some form of chemical poisoning. Now bear in mind that chemical poisoning can be something as simple as a bad hangover, a bad reaction to an anti-biotic or over exposure to a toxic chemical of some kind.

It does not mean that somebody actually poisoned you – more likely that you came in contact or ingested something that your body is having a bad reaction to. So don’t start freaking out for no reason.

If you have a hangover headache, it’s too late to follow the best advice… not to over indulge. OTC (over the counter) pain medications may help relieve the headache, but what your body really needs to get rid of the hangover is to be re-hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids. Water is best. However if nausea is an additional problem, then rehydrate slowly. Gulping down large amounts of water can put the kidneys into shock and the water is passed right through you without doing any of it’s important detoxing or rehydrating work.

Some penicillin-based drugs will cause a thirsty type of headache. One example is amoxicillin-clavulic acid which is a combination drug sometimes used to treat many types of infections from sinusitis to pneumonia to STD’s. You may know it by its trade name, Augmentin®. Among many side effects that can occur with the use of Augmentin are headache and increased thirst. Although with many medications, symptoms such as these are trivial, if you experience these side effects after using Augmentin, you should report them immediately to your health care provider.

Over exposure or ingestion of many herbicides and pesticides can cause increased thirst and severe headaches. If you experience a headache after using gardening chemicals or other pest control products, immediately contact your doctor. Don’t take chances here – your life may be at risk.

If you look on the Internet, you’ll find a plethora of web sites that offer homeopathic and alternative methods of dealing with the headache-thirst combo. However, this type of headache can be life threatening. Unless you are sure that the reason behind your thirsty-headache is that you partied too hearty, seek professional medical help to find the cause and cure for this type of headache!

For all folks who bear the pain associated with migraine headaches, every two to three weeks perennially, its as if a sledge hammer is pounding the head continuously, the nauseating feeling, complete loss of appetite, inability to venture outside in light, it all gets so frustrating making them feel, why, for what fault of our’s? It is just there and bang-bang-bang it keeps on and on disturbing the routine life and taking total control. It’s much worser than having a bad habit and being penalized as there is no justification in this case.

Again the regular visits to the clinics, medical expenses, the disruption in the work routine all adds up to the frustration. Spending around 300 dollars every month for the pills in many cases, not to mention the long term adverse effects of these pills that are causing to the overall health. It’s not uncommon to find many cardio vascular complications at later stage tracing back to migraine.

Ever thought why there is a continuous supply of medications, but no permanent cure proposed. Think who benefits in that way if we are dependent on medications and our system develops immunity to it, all it does is provide a temporary relief for the headache to resurface in due course. Size of this industry alone is more than that of GDP of several countries. In US the overall cost of migraine has been estimated close to 15 billion dollars annually and that is excluding the cost of lost business and the lost productive man-hours. In Europe it’s eating away more than 25 Billion Pounds every year.

Surgery could be a permanent alternative for an individual but is expensive – not less than 3000 dollars, and that’s not cheap. Is there a tried and tested solution that gives permanent relief, free from any side effects, gives immediate results, is available for immediate use and does not burn out pocket.

Those of us who suffer from migraine headaches are forever looking for a cure. Unfortunately the cure for this miserable complaint has never really been found. Maybe this is because not everyone suffers migraines for the same reason.

When a migraine strikes though, whatever the cause, it’s an extremely painful, distressing and nauseous experience.

There can be many triggers which cause the headaches to start. It’s generally agreed that it can be anything from an allergy or allergies, to way of life, alcohol consumption, illness, and even not enough sleep.

Help With Migraine Symptoms

There are various things that can be done to help to alleviate the symptoms. Your G.P. may prescribe medication which will help to reduce pain level, but remember some medications can in fact trigger a migraine in the first place so be careful.

Women, for instance, who take the birth control pill or H.R.T. sometimes find that this will cause them to suddenly have a migraine when they have never experienced one before.

Rest is one of the best ways to cope with a really bad migraine attack, and lying in a darkened room, trying to remain calm will definitely help.

Massaging with Lavender oil is another aid. With thumb and forefinger gently massage between the eyebrows, slowly moving your fingers up over the forehead, and gradually down to the outer edges of your eyes, and back behind the ears and down the neck. You must be very gentle when massaging as you don’t want to make the situation worse by rough handling.

What You Eat And Drink Can Affect Migraine Headaches

Your diet may also play a part in your suffering, so it’s a good idea to ensure you’re on a diet of lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Try to avoid processed foods, and fatty foods, as they will exacerbate your problem and wont do you much good generally.

Drinking water and fruit juices all help to keep your body in good working order, provided of course you’re not allergic to any type of fruit.

Allergies to certain pollens and grasses, and even a hot sunny day, can bring on a migraine, so try to pinpoint what you think might be causing the problem and eliminate it.

If you are a naturally anxious person, or are going through a particularly stressful time, try to counteract this with relaxation techniques such as yoga, dancing classes, painting and drawing, or even just lying down and practising deep breathing.

More Help For Migraine Sufferers

The cure for migraine headaches is illusive, but you can help yourself by trying some of the above.

If you are looking for a migraine cure then I have found a great solution for migraine relief. Go to my migraine website now to find out more – http://www.migraineheadachetips.com

Swollen lymph nodes that appear with a headache, while not always a medical emergency, could be compared to the double warning of flashing lights and a siren. It’s a signal from your body that it’s time to pull over unless you want to run the risk of getting into worse trouble!

Not a disease in itself, swollen lymph nodes with a headache is typically a warning of a more serious condition. Swollen lymph nodes are what most of us call swollen glands and when accompanied by a headache can signify the beginnings of serious illness such as tonsillitis, West Nile virus, chronic fatigue syndrome.

Even more worrying is that these symptoms can indicate severe, life-threatening illnesses like AIDS, anthrax, and mononucleosis. However, if you have this condition don’t panic…yet!

The human body has some miraculous defense mechanisms in that whenever we become ill, it warns us of impending trouble with various symptoms such as your lymph nodes being swollen. In fact, one of the body’s first lines of defense is to warn us with pain or swelling – think of it as a kinda of early warning system for your body.

A primary part of the body’s immune system, lymph tissues, or glands as we commonly call them, are bean shaped masses of tissue located in our armpits, necks, and groin areas. They trap invading organisms and contain lymphocytes (white blood cells) which destroy foreign bodies and other harmful cells.

Swelling is caused when lymph nodes produce extra white blood cells to fight infection and although the swollen area may be tender to the touch, it’s an indication that the lymph nodes are trying to do their job. Although swollen lymph nodes with a headache is certainly no fun, the former is an indication that your body is trying to combat infection while the latter is a warning to you that maybe it needs more help.

If you have swollen glands it’s time to see your medical practitioner, pinpoint the problem, and obtain professional treatment. Remember these symptoms are your body’s way of telling you that something isn’t working properly or that your body is struggling to fight off an infection so don’t ignore them.

Real sinus pain is rare and for most of us, when we believe we have a sinus headache, it’s usually a migraine or a headache brought on by stress. Normally you get a sinus headache only when your sinuses themselves are inflamed and the inflammation generally is accompanied by a fever. Inflammation can be caused by an allergy, a tumor, or an infection, all of which can be diagnosed and treated by your family doctor.

Many people mistakenly believe that sinuses are limited to nasal passages. However, sinuses are located in the forehead, on each cheekbone, and behind the bridge of your nose. Healthy sinuses are filled with air and their secretions drain freely into the nose. In addition to a sinus headache, when sinuses are blocked you have other symptoms like fever mentioned above and feelings of pressure around your eyes, cheeks and forehead.

Colds and other respiratory viruses leave sinuses vulnerable to infection. Bacteria causes your mucous membranes to swell which effectively blocks your sinuses, which in turn blocks normal drainage. Bending over or standing back up too quickly is excruciating. In addition, sinus infections can actually cause a feeling of toothache in some patients! In any event, because the causes of sinus headaches differ radically from the causes of other headaches, it’s best to consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment – never try to diagnose your own medical problems.

When you do have a sinus headache, there are some steps that you can take at home to relieve your pain.

* Humidify your air with a steam vaporizer or cool-mist humidifier. Even vapor from a steaming basin of water or hot shower can help. Eucalyptus, lavender, rosemary and thyme oils are additives that can be added to hot steam treatments to help relieve the sinus headache in a gentle and enjoyable manner.

* Use a normal pain killer like Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, or plain aspirin. Many people make the mistake of using a decongestant for sinus headache. Antihistamines in decongestants can further dry out nasal passages and actually make a sinus headache worse! Use them only on your physicians direct recommendation.

* Herbal tea may help relieve sinus headache. In any event, herbs are a generally safe way to supplement nutrients your body needs. Herbs may also be purchased as capsules, tablets, or tinctures at health food stores and many pharmacies. Some herbs that are taken for sinus headache relief include Wild Indigo, Eyebright, Licorice, Coneflower, Goldenseal, Jamaica Dogwood, and St. John’s Wort.

Many patients who believe they have symptoms of a sinus headache seek medical treatment only to find their pain is caused by either a migraine or a tension headache.

Before you add up the symptoms of a sinus headache, take a look at the math. In one recent study of 30 subjects with self-diagnosed sinus headache, 97% (29) described symptoms that pretty much proved they had a migraine. Twenty-six of the thirty characterized their headache as interfering with the quality of their life, which is one of the most common and over-powering symptoms of migraine headaches.

Besides migraines, other underlying health problems can cause headache. The truth is that many types of headache are symptoms of severe medical problems that really need to be ruled out by your doctor. In fact, although there are no real symptoms of a sinus headache, the true sinus headache is a symptom of acute or chronic sinusitis.

While sinus headache is a symptom rather than a disease, there are a few conditions that distinguish it from migraine.

Your symptoms of a sinus headache may instead be those of migraine if:

* Your headache makes you schedule your day around it, puts you in bed, causes you to take off from work or school.

* Your headache makes you nauseous.

* Your headache is throbbing and on one side of your head.

* Your headache makes you sensitive to strong light, noise, or odors.

* Your symptoms of a sinus headache may be those of sinusitis if:

* It is accompanied by dull or severe pressure sensitivity in your face or head. (Behind the eyes is common.)

* Your face is tender to the touch

* Your headache is worse when you awaken

* Your headache worsens when you move from a warm area to a cool one (or the reverse)

* Your headache began during or after a cold

* You have pharyngitis (post nasal drip with sore throat)

* Discharge from your nose is thick and yellow-green

* You have nasal congestion

So like any condition you might suffer from it’s important to treat it with the right medication if needs be. Migraine headaches and sinus headaches are going to react very differently depending on what you’re using to treat them. And if you’re in any doubt about the types of headaches you’re having – sinus or otherwise – make sure you check with your doctor for a proper diagnosis of your issue.

Worn out from constant migraine attacks? Nobody understands just how sick you feel right? Why not learn more about migraine headache treatments right now. You can gets lots more information on migraine headaches online today.
