Sore Feet? – How the Benefits of Reflexology Can Help Ease Your Foot Pain
For those suffering the daily trials of sore feet and foot pain, reflexology can be of immense assistance.
Your feet are actually more sensitive and receptive to touch than your hands because they contain a large array of nerve endings, approximately seventy two hundred in each foot. Also because they are not constantly exposed to the elements, they are extremely responsive to the calming tranquilizing effects induced by a reflexology session.
Think about it when your feet hurt, what is the first thing you do? Remove your shoes and rub the spots that are sore do I hear you reply? This is an instinctive reflex on our part to try to increase circulation to the area that’s hurting or tense and massage out the pain.
We should however not confuse reflexology with massage; which largely comprises muscle and soft tissue work. There are indeed similarities, such as stress relief, increased local circulation in the located area. Read more…

All of these ways of enhancing the health of specific organs are currently used by many of Prof. Liu’s female patients. First, however there are 2 rules that must be observed.
RULE 1. If you are treating a current health problem, increase the number of times you activate the relevant pressure points, and increase the time you spend activating those points.
RULE 2. The more severe the problem, the greater the incremental changes should be.
For all women the two critical points are San Yin Jiao (spleen 6) and Zu San Li (stomach 36). The other two points Nei Guan (pericardium 6) and He Gu (large intestine 4) will be explored in more detail in the next article. Read more…

How to Find a Reiki Practitioner in Your Area
Reiki is an exciting form of alternative healing, whose prominence has grown steadily in the last century. Reiki therapy focuses on achieving a positive flow of energy around and through the body, thus improving the patient’s health and wellbeing.
In a typical Reiki treatment, the patient will lie down and relax as the Reiki practitioner lays his/her hands on or just above the patient and passes healing energy to the patient. Reiki is becoming more common, but not as common as other forms of alternative medicine, so this guide aims to help you find a Reiki practitioner and get the most out of your experience.
How to find a good Reiki healer:
* Your local Yellow Pages: Reiki will most likely be found under Alternative Medicine.
* Online resources: Head to yellowpages.com and do a search for Reiki in your area. Or try yahoo.com and their Directory search.
* Find a specialized directory related to alternative medicine, like ZenLocate.com.
* Talk to friends and coworkers: Ask around; a recommendation from someone you trust is a good way to get started.
* Do a web search: If you’re not sure where to start, or looking for more information, head on over to Google and try searching for something in your area (e.g. Reiki Chicago). Read more…

Basic Elements of Chinese Medicine
The tradition of Chinese medicine, which is one of the oldest in the world, is thought to go back over two and a half millennia. It is now familiar to many of us and has become available in many parts of the world as a viable alternative health treatment.
Supposedly an early Chinese Emperor named “Shennong” was very keen on plants and experimented widely with tastes, potions and recorded his results. Later a book of herbal knowledge was named after him and credited to him but it was likely he didn’t write it but simply served as the inspiration. He is still thought of today as the father of modern Chinese herbal medicine.
Early heat treatments, warming up rocks and smooth stones, and using herbs and plant specimens are thought to have been practised by the Chinese people long ago and evidence has been found in the form of inscriptions on the remains of tortoise shells for water and other herbal remedies from the early days. Today the practise incorporates many different philosophical, spiritual and religious influences drawn from both Daoism and Confucianism which have both deeply impacted Chinese culture and way of life over the centuries. Healing With Gemstones and Crystals – How it All Works
How in the world can a rock help us to heal? The idea of a stone healing a human being must seem ridiculous to anyone who has yet to experience it. There was a time when I was also skeptical-not just skeptical, but would laugh if you even suggested that rocks, minerals or metals could do anything but just sit there. It could maybe look pretty. It must have been quite a while ago. I have been a practicing gem therapist (for myself, mostly) since the early eighties.
I have a pile of raw gems next to my bed, and sleep with a beautiful ocean jade under my pillow almost every night. Next to my bed are aragonite, quartz, amethyst, and copper-to name a few. I can absolutely understand how it would seem absurd that these stones actually do anything outside of appeal to the eye. A skeptic would likely chalk all this “healing business” up to imagination-which, hey-imagination is a good thing too, so if it works, go for it! It is true that gemstones can heal us.
Anything and everything is a potential healer. To understand this, it is important to first have some sense of how the natural holistic healing process works. First off, when we speak about the body, we are including the subtle bodies (i.e. the physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual bodies). Some things are obvious, and some things are subtle (less obvious). “Subtle bodies” is just another way of referring to the experience that surrounds your thoughts, feelings, nuances, and emotions.
Keep in mind that our entire bodily system is nothing more than energy that shows up in various patterns and densities. Our thoughts and our feelings are connected to our physical bodies and have a density of their own. We are all built pretty much the same. Diversity has its place, and we are all individuals, yet nature created patterns that work the same in all of us to keep our hearts beating, our blood flowing, and so on. When these patterns of energy work together in a balanced way then we experience our health. Read more…
