Handling and Moving Hazardous Chemical Containers
Handling and moving hazardous chemicals in containers and cylinders short distance poses special challenges. “It’s only a short distance . . . I don’t need to do all of that prep work.”
The situation isn’t all that different from moving household goods from an old house to a new house in a nearby neighborhood. You pile the dishes in stacks on the back seat of the car instead of packing them into boxes which, is certainly too much trouble. Starting out of the driveway, you slam on the brakes to avoid hitting a youngster on a bike – the result? Broken dishes, of course! The challenge is to overcome our inherent “short-cut” mindset and avoid the consequence of avoiding the work that must be done to safely move a hazardous chemical load a short distance.
Handling and moving hazardous chemicals can be very dangerous. Refer to the MSDS for each chemical you must work with. Select PPE to wear based on the most hazardous of the chemicals you must handle. Identify what type of spill kit to have on hand, what type of carts and dollies to use for moving containers and cylinders, and what types of containers and packaging to have on hand to transfer those chemicals that are in unsafe containers or when preparing the containers for disposal. A Peek Into the Side Effects of Resveratrol
All over the internet, one will find many websites heralding the arrival of many Resveratrol based products. Upon skimming through a couple of them, I noticed something strange – every website is offering an insight into the positive aspects of the products. Although there are websites that illustrate the harmful effects of the chemical, the other websites are gaining better page ranks on search engine listing. In effect, everyone will start thinking that the chemical is a miracle drug with no harmful effects whatsoever! Well, I strongly disagree with such thoughts – allow me to pen down certain aspects regarding Resveratrol.
The chemical is known to be present in large quantities on red wine (specifically red grapes, from which red wine is manufactured). The same chemical is sparsely present on peanuts (roasted peanuts contain a high dose of Resveratrol). Plants – in response to pathogenic attacks, naturally synthesize the chemical. In simpler terms, the chemical can protect the plant from the attacks of external agents. The same concept is realized on the human body, likewise. The antiseptic and antibacterial properties of the chemical are widely attributed to the inherent nature that is preprogrammed into the chemical. Read more…

The scan requires you to lie still inside the center of the large machine, which does not give much room at all for you. And during the process, the MRI machine can be very loud.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Automated external defibrillator (AED) the word spelled out a lot, is an electronic device that automatically diagnoses the possibly life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in people and will treat them through defibrillation, the device of electrical therapy which prevents the arrhythmia, lets the heart to restore an effectual rhythm. China – Can Traditional and Modern Medicinal Products Live in Harmony?
In 2008 the Beijing Olympics took China well into the modern world and now, in 2009, China celebrates the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The UK is hosting a high profile red carpet and VIP reception to celebrate this 60th anniversary. Guests to include politicians, senior figures from the Chinese and UK business communities, celebrities from music, television and film.
Representatives from Global Regulatory Services were given the opportunity to attend this event and witness the raising of 60 Tang Dynasty style lanterns each signifying one of the past 60 years. It is certain to be another memorable event which will marry the traditional with the modern.
I mention this because the Beijing Olympics were crucial for demonstrating to the world that China can provide quality products and services. No doubt the 60th anniversary celebrations will reiterate this. China, however, is still having to deal with corruption and fraud on a grand scale which is particularly prevalent in pharmaceuticals. This is one of the reasons why companies are hesitant about setting up in China. The ’soft’ approach is to establish a strategic alliance or partner with an existing credible Chinese company who has local knowledge and experience.
Heavy investment by the Chinese government is encouraging the development of new pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Couple this with local young and enthusiastic scientists who have been educated in Europe and/or America, it’ll come as no surprise if China should gain the lead in developing truly innovative medicinal products. This reflects modern China but what about historical, traditional China? Read more…
