Chloramine Filter and Why Your Water Supply Needs One
Are you as alarmed as I was when you hear that some cities in this great country give false reports to the government for the quality of the water that they supply to their citizens? Wouldn’t it make you wonder if you live in one of those cities?
My city wasn’t talked about in the article, but I come from a rather small metropolitan area, so I highly doubt mine would’ve been one reported on. What about you, do you know about your city and what is in the water you receive?
The article was referring to the chloramine levels in water and why we all need to install a chloramine filter in our houses.
Chloramine has been used in place of chlorine at many water plants to disinfect our water and to remove dangerous contaminates. It is a combination of ammonia and chlorine.
The research I’ve done shows this chemical eats away at the lead in the pipes the water travels through on its way to our homes. This causes the lead to get into our water supply, so even if the water tested lead free when it left the facility, by the time it reaches your home it is no longer lead free. Read more…
