Dental treatment in India

Maybe you hide your smile because of spaces from lost teeth. Perhaps your dentures don’t feel secure and you have difficulty chewing. If you are missing one or more teeth and would like to smile, speak and eat again with comfort and confidence, Dental implants along with artificial teeth are often good options to fill up the gaps left by tooth loss. Lots of people came across the fact that dental implants are more at ease, efficient and safe than are dentures or bridgework. An artificial tooth root replacement used that are used to counter tooth loss is what is known as DENTAL IMPLANT. Whether you are a young, middle-aged or older adult; whether you require replacing one tooth, a number of teeth, or all your teeth, there is a dental implant solution for you. With the exception of growing children, dental implants are the solution of choice for people of all ages.

In 1952, the first dental implants were developed and ever since then technology has taken leaps and bounds to give us the most contemporary way out for missing teeth. The success rate for implants is remarkable: 98 percent for lower implants and 91 percent for upper implants. With proper care (see below), implants can last a lifetime. A typical implant consists of a titanium screw (resembling a tooth root) with a roughened surface. This surface is treated either by plasma spraying, etching or sandblasting to increase the integration potential of the implant. An osteotomy or precision hole is carefully drilled into jawbone and the implant is installed in the osteotomy. During the placement of a dental implant the objective is to achieve a close contact between the outer surface of the implant and the surrounding bone tissue so that they can FUSE together (osseointegration) creating a stable support for the new teeth. Baltic Countries are the Newest Entrants to Europe’s Dental Tourism Competition

When Baltic States like Latvia were part of the Soviet Union, dental treatment of all kinds was clearly inferior to that offered in the West. For example, the lack of powerful anesthetics made a trip to the dentist a nightmare of pain and stress. Horror stories were common and no one in their right mind wanted to have a cavity filled or worse still, endure an extraction.

Nowadays all that’s changed as 2 decades of development have brought these countries up to and sometimes above the level of their Western counterparts. Indeed, every year thousands of patients from old industrialized EU countries are taking advantage of First World dental care at Third World prices. Nowhere is this more apparent than in Latvia’s capital, Riga, where dozens of clinics compete for patients arriving from Norway, Sweden, Ireland, and as far away as the US. Read more…

Traditional Orthodontic Braces Vs Invisible Braces, the Invisalign

Dental braces or orthodontic braces are a tool used to align teeth position with regard to a person’s bite. They often come with brackets and wire fixed to teeth to make them straight and also used to correct the under-bites, overbites, cross bite and open bites or crooked teeth which are called malocclusion ( mal-uh-kloo-zhun), a word that comes from Latin and means “bad bite.” Malocclusion is a word that dentists use to describe the shape of your mouth. So, by applying braces, the condition of your mouth and jaws are now reshaped. The braces with brackets and wire is now a trend for young people who normally have non-aligned teeth position.

Invisalign?

Invisalign is a series of clear aligners used to straighten teeth. Ask your orthodontist about them. It is also called invisible braces, inside braces, lingual braces or ibraces. The Invisalign aligners are clear and hardly visible to others compared to metal orthodontic braces with brackets and wires. The Invisalign aligners are made after the orthodontist takes impressions of your teeth and send them to dental lab and make a unit of clear aligners according to your teeth alignment using computer. When ready, the first set of clear aligners will be fixed to your teeth. With the orthodontist guidance, you will move to the next set of clear aligners within a couple of weeks. For info, the number of Invisalign aligners sets will depend on the individual dental condition and the orthodontic problems. So, be ready to see your orthodontist regularly and set aside some budgets too. Read more…
