It may be scary for those who need to undergo their first MRI scan. An MRI is a giant machine that uses powerful magnetic fields and electromagnetic waves to scan you. Even though the doctor continues to reassure that it is a perfectly safe procedure, you are still unsure what to expect and what side effects the MRI might have on your body.
While you it is a painless procedure, you should be aware of a few things. The entire process will take about half an hour with you on your back. The scan requires you to lie still inside the center of the large machine, which does not give much room at all for you. And during the process, the MRI machine can be very loud.
Needless to say, an MRI scan can be a little uncomfortable. This can lead to side effects such as headaches, dizziness, light-headedness and nausea. Preventing Head Injuries – Why You Should Wear a Helmet When Skiing Or Snowboarding
When the snow starts to fall the mind shifts to various winter sports, specifically skiing and snowboarding. Does this describe you? Headaches and Thirst – What Are They Symptoms Of?
If you’re getting headaches that happen as the same time as a sudden severe thirst you might need to check in with a doctor or ER room. Usually having a sudden headache and a strong thirst is a sign of some form of chemical poisoning. Now bear in mind that chemical poisoning can be something as simple as a bad hangover, a bad reaction to an anti-biotic or over exposure to a toxic chemical of some kind.
It does not mean that somebody actually poisoned you – more likely that you came in contact or ingested something that your body is having a bad reaction to. So don’t start freaking out for no reason.
If you have a hangover headache, it’s too late to follow the best advice… not to over indulge. OTC (over the counter) pain medications may help relieve the headache, but what your body really needs to get rid of the hangover is to be re-hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids. Water is best. However if nausea is an additional problem, then rehydrate slowly. Suffering From Swollen Lymph Nodes and Headaches?
