Basic Portability Factor of Basic Portable Finger Pulse Oximeter

When you take care of a sick child there is nothing more important than their well being, and a portable finger pulse oximeter can help enhance that well being. Sick children, especially those that require monitors like pulse-ox monitors or apnea monitors, tend to leave the house infrequently. They end up with less stimulation, as does the parent, and they end up with fewer friends.

Parents and children do require a certain amount of time away from home in order to be able to live in a healthy and fluid environment. This is difficult to balance when it comes to creating a healthy place for them physically as well as a healthy lifestyle for them emotionally.

You, as well, need a balance of health in your life. Being taxed on a continuous basis can be exhausting, and being able to take a break for yourself is necessary for your own health.

A portable finger pulse oximeter can help make that happen. We all know how hard it is to carry around a chest monitor, a diaper bag, extra supplies, and perhaps even a nebulizer and an apnea monitor just to run to the store for a few essentials. Being able to replace just one of those items with a small, slip it in your pocket device is a huge burden lifted.

The truth of the matter is that many of us are fearful of changing our children’s health equipment. We hate it for what it represents but we can’t imagine being away from it for a moment… Just in case. Moving into a portable finger pulse oximeter can seem frightening, but the good news is that it’s just a back up until you’re ready. It’s just a monitor that you can take with you in the car and to go see Grandma. Read more…

Learn to Enjoy a Balanced, Good Life

Happiness is easily achieved once you find the right balance between your physical, mental, spiritual and emotional selves. As Thomas Merton said: “Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony”. Nevertheless, intensity should never be underestimated, as it may be of help from time to time.

For some, achieving balance in their lives may seem a bit difficult, especially if they are very busy individuals with little or no time for themselves… or so they think. What these people need to understand is that by giving priority to their well being they are contributing greatly to the world around them, as a balanced world is formed by balanced individuals, and only then, can true happiness be experienced. Good always starts with oneself; be good to yourself and this good will be passed along to others, eventually healing the world. Read more…

Whole Grains – The Secret To Weight Loss

Whole grains are an important addition to any-one’s diet. They are by far the best source for carbohydrates the body can use, for many reasons. Let’s first compare two simple items. We’ll take a slice of white bread and a slice of whole wheat bread. White bread, has little to no fiber in it. The whole wheat slice has a good amount of fiber in it. Fiber is tough on the digestive system, but in a good way. It takes longer for the body to process foods that are higher in fiber. As a result, foods high in fiber keep you feeling full, longer. The white bread consists of simple starches surrounded by very little fibers. In effect, the body quickly digests the bread and converts it to sugar far more rapidly than the slice of whole wheat bread. This usually causes an insulin spike, which naturally makes the body feel hungry again. Alternatively, whole wheat bread is converted to sugar, but at a much slower rate which regulates the body’s insulin level and reduces hunger.

In recent months, there’s been a race amongst big corporate food processors to slap the “Whole Grain” label on just about anything that will legally qualify as whole grain. The problem is that typically when you purchase any foods from these big companies, whether or not it contains whole grains, they are accompanied by preservatives and ingredients with more than ten letters that some full grown adults can not even pronounce. Furthermore, there is label trickery that goes on and one must read them carefully. One example being, if you every buy wheat bread, ensure that it says whole wheat. The words whole wheat ensure that a whole grain was used to make the bread. Read more…
