Before surgery, you will meet with your surgeon to discuss all of the details of your procedure and to review any questions you may have. That staff at the hospital or surgery center will work with you to schedule the procedure and make any other necessary arrangements. You will need to complete any required pre-surgical tests, take any medications as directed, and follow all preoperative instructions provided by your surgeon to help prepare your body for the surgery.

On the day of your surgery, you will arrive at the facility and pre-surgical preparations will be started. These can include beginning intravenous fluids, monitoring your vital signs, and confirming the details of your procedure. The surgery itself may last anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours or more depending on the procedure you are having performed. Throughout your surgery, the surgeon and surgical staff are focused on your safety and will monitor you closely.
